Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I read the Event Waiver?

The Event Waiver is located at fortcollinstours.com/waiver. All event attendees must understand and agree to this waiver.

Where do tours start?

Tours in Fort Collins start in Old Town Square near the fountain (unless noted otherwise on tour description page). We are located between Cira Ltd and Thamel Import Gifts. For map & directions, please click here. Please see description pages for classes and workshops.

Does Fort Collins Tours offer refunds on purchased tickets/tours?

Due to the cost of scheduling personnel and resources to support each tour as well as the loss of potential ticket sales once tour slots have been closed, Fort Collins Tours does not offer refunds on purchased tickets. Before purchasing tickets, please ensure that you and/or anyone you are purchasing tickets for will be able to attend the tour. If you have exceptional circumstances and you contact us at least one week in advance of the scheduled tour, we may be able to reschedule you for another tour (depending on tour availability).

Will you still have a tour if it is raining or snowing?

Tours run rain or shine, except in the rare case of extreme weather. We will contact the person that purchased tickets with the phone number provided if we ever have to cancel a tour due to extreme weather conditions. You can also call (970) 372-1445 prior to a tour to inquire about tour status. For weather forecast information, please click here and go to the bottom of the page.

Are children allowed on tours?

For many tours, Yes. However, many stories told on the ghost tours are inappropriate for young children and we ask that you not bring children under the age of 12. For concerned parents of older children, please feel free to call us and we would be happy to provide more details. You may also schedule a private tour for younger groups and the tour guide will tailor story details to the appropriate audience level. No individuals under the age of 21 are allowed on our "drinking-oriented" tours (e.g. the Haunted Pub Tour, Brewery Tours, and Speakeasies & Spirits Tours). We also offer a "Tour Comparison" page that lists all of our tours and provides age restrictions per tour type. Please click here to visit the Tour Comparison page. For more information please call (970) 372-1445 or use our contact form.

We offer a "Tour Comparison" page that lists all of our tours and provides information on the type of tour (walking, horse-drawn carriage, etc). Please click here to visit the Tour Comparison page.

Which tours are offered year round? Which tours are only offered seasonally? Which tours can only be scheduled by private groups?

We offer a "Tour Comparison" page that lists all of our tours and provides information on which tours are year-round, which are seasonal, and which can only be privately scheduled. Please note that any of the regularly scheduled tours can also be scheduled as private tours (the seasonal tours can be scheduled privately as well, but may be limited to certain times of the year). Please click here to visit the Tour Comparison page.

I have a coupon or gift certificate for a tour. How do I redeem it?

If you have a coupon code, please enter your coupon code when prompted during checkout. If tickets were purchased through a special promotion or gift certificate, please call (970) 372-1445 to redeem and schedule your tour.

Can I request a particular tour guide?

In general, we can not promise that a particular tour guide will give a tour (and we'll often have multiple tour guides for a given tour). However, if there is a tour guide you prefer, please give us a call and we will see if we can get you on one of the tours they are currently scheduled for (keeping in mind that we sometimes have to change tour guides to accommodate unforeseen schedule changes). You may also schedule a private group tour with specific tour guides.

Is the tour the same every time?

No, absolutely not! Every tour is unique. For the ghost and history tours, we have dozens of tour stop locations and multiple stories to tell for every tour stop, but we simply can not fit all of Fort Collins rich history and stories into a single tour. We try to incorporate some of our more favorite or frequently requested stops in every tour, however sometimes stops can not be scheduled for a particular tour. On other occasion we may have a rare opportunity to visit a lesser visited location. We are also always researching Fort Collins history, continually improving the tour from attendee feedback, and adapting through various changes. We have many experienced and knowledgeable tour guides each delivering their own style of story telling from the perspectives of Fort Collins tales they personally find most intriguing. The final element is the great folks that attend our tours, who often have special requests or questions that help shape the journey. All these things guarantee that each tour is unique. For that reason we have had many people attend the same tours numerous times, often bringing along new friends and family to share the experience.

What is the phone number for Fort Collins Tours?

What’s the difference between The Fort Collins Ghost Tour and other ghost tours offered by Fort Collins Tours, such as the Late Night Ghost Walks?

The web pages for each tour give a pretty good overview of the tours (https://www.fortcollinstours.com/fortcollinsghosttour and https://www.fortcollinstours.com/latenightghostwalk). While there may be some occasional overlap (again, every tour is different), the Fort Collins Ghost Tour focuses on iconic, well-established stops as well as subterranean stops. The Late Night Ghost Walks takes different routes and focuses on street level stops that we seldom visit on the Fort Collins Ghost Tour. We recommend going on the Fort Collins Ghost Tour first if you're trying to decide between the two. Then come along for a late night ghost walk after you've taken the Fort Collins Ghost Tour. Remember that the styles and story delivery of each of our guides is a little different, so if you've already been on multiple tours, you might want to use the contact form (or give us a call) to see who might be scheduled for a particular tour; although guide assignments can and do change. We also offer several other ghost tour variations; including (but not limited to) the Horse and Buggy Ghost Tour, the Ghosts and Goodies Ghost Tour, etc.

How will I receive my tickets after I purchase online?

Fort Collins Tours automatically sends an electronic receipt for all ticket purchases to the email address you provide during checkout (please be sure to provide your correct email address during checkout). If you do not receive this email within 15 minutes of purchase, please check your email "spam" or junkmail folders. While a printout of the receipt is not required, it may be helpful for looking up and confirming your reservation. When you arrive at the starting location, a tour guide will look up the purchaser name on the tour list and the number of tickets purchased. Due to various restrictions, tickets must be purchased online before the tour starts.
